20/20 Plumbing & Heating Joins Lennar Corporation in Building $1B City of Hope Orange County Campus

City of Hope Orange County, a world-renowned cancer research and treatment center, just received a $50 million gift from Lennar Foundation to aid in the organization’s plans to invest $1 billion in a comprehensive cancer care and research campus in Irvine, California. The gift is the largest philanthropic contribution to City of Hope Orange County and the second-largest donation in City of Hope’s 108-year history.

City of Hope Orange County has set a goal of raising $300 million by 2025 when the county’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to treating and curing cancer will open at City of Hope Irvine.

The future 190,000-square-foot Lennar Foundation Cancer Center at City of Hope Orange County will occupy 11 acres at Five Point’s Great Park in Irvine. The facility will include a hospital, two outpatient treatment centers and a network of close-to-home services for Orange County patients. City of Hope’s outpatient center in Newport Beach, which opened in January 2020, is the first piece in the planned $1 billion investment in Orange County.

Lennar Corporation, founded in 1954, is one of the nation’s leading builders of quality homes in 22 states across the nation. Lennar has a long history of developing thriving communities in Orange County, helping to shape the region into the world-class recreation and lifestyle destination it is today. This gift is an extension of the company’s longstanding commitment to improving lives in the neighborhoods it builds.

20/20 Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is proud to announce that its Single-Family Housing Plumbing Division is among the select group of trades chosen by Lennar Homes California Coastal Division to build this remarkable project for City of Hope. The collaborative partnership enjoyed by 20/20 and Lennar is a testament to the organizations’ shared values and dedication to elevating the quality of life for people across social, and economic divides.

Lennar is further helping to facilitate a partnership between City of Hope Orange County and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami in Florida, to which Lennar has made a similar financial contribution. These two health care organizations serve some of the most diverse populations in the United States. Researchers hope that by working together, they may acquire a better understanding of health care inequities in their communities and beyond.

Annette M. Walker, president of City of Hope Orange County, called Lennar Foundation’s donation “transformational.” She said, “This generous gift of hope is a historic moment for City of Hope. Thank you to Lennar Foundation, which is united in our vision and understands the urgency of our work, helping us ensure that our promise to Orange County will be fulfilled. We are building a place of hope and healing that will serve residents of Orange County and beyond for generations to come. Every one of us has been touched by cancer and we want all who are impacted by this disease to know we are here for you, your family, friends and neighbors.”

At 20/20 Plumbing & Heating, Inc., we are more than a plumbing and HVAC company. We are community builders.
