20/20 Plumbing & Heating Builds Affordable Housing Communities With Nonprofit National CORE

As one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing developers in the U.S., National CORE has developed more than 120 properties nationwide. 20/20 Plumbing & Heating, Inc. has recently played a key role in three of the organization’s California-based projects: Legacy Square in Santa Ana; Villa Serena PH in Carlsbad; and the newly completed Fairview Heights in Inglewood.

National CORE® strives to bring prosperity, security, revitalization and growth to the healthy communities it creates. The organization not only supports families and seniors by providing housing communities that are affordable, safe and of the highest quality, but goes further to enhance neighborhood stability through long-term management and maintenance, as well as industry-leading services such as senior wellness, preschool and after-school programs and family financial training. To help accomplish these goals, National CORE created the Hope through Housing Foundation, which provides services aimed at improving the lives of residents in its communities. HOPE’s mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty by implementing programs and services that meet the needs of the children, families and seniors.

National CORE is also committed to hiring locally and maximizing the benefits for that community. As an industry-leading contractor in California and Nevada since 2015, 20/20 Plumbing & Heating is a partner to National CORE and social progress in the region.

Legacy Square is a transit-oriented, affordable housing development adjacent to a future Orange County Streetcar station located at Santa Ana Boulevard and French Street. Legacy Square will bring new energy to downtown Santa Ana, with 93 beautiful and 100 percent affordable apartment homes; more than 1,750 square feet of ground-level flexible space; and a 3,800 square foot community center to serve as a neighborhood hub for events and activities.

Villa Serena is in the first of two phases of reconstruction that will ultimately transform the community. Phase One – will create 85 apartment homes. Phase Two – will build another 63 homes, replacing the original 136 units of housing with 148 modern living spaces. National CORE will be working with the City of San Marcos and County of San Diego to set aside eight apartment homes for young adults aging out of the foster care system. Villa Serena’s 1,933 square foot community center will serve as a hub for community events and activities, offer essential services and property management to promote stability, self-sufficiency and overall well-being for residents.

Fairview Heights is a mixed-use development comprised of 100 apartment homes and 7,394 square feet of commercial/retail space located directly across the street from the future Fairview Heights Metrolink Station at the intersection of Florence Avenue and West Boulevard in Inglewood. It includes 50 one-bedroom units; 25 two-bedroom units; and 25 three-bedroom units for individuals and families with household income qualifying maximums at various set asides ranging from 30 to 80 percent of applicable area median income (AMI). 20/20 Plumbing & Heating, Inc. installed both plumbing and HVAC at Fairview Heights.

Driven by the philosophy that “where you live matters,” National CORE brings an array of benefits to the neighborhoods where it develops and manages housing. Recognizing that communities are the backbone of every neighborhood, National CORE supports local businesses and other support networks to help transform and strengthen the communities where its residents live, work and play. These are values that 20/20 Plumbing & Heating stand behind.

20/20 Plumbing & Heating supports many affordable housing initiatives for veterans, seniors and other affordable housing communities.
