20/20 Plumbing & Heating Joins Cityview in Revitalizing Historic South-Central L.A.
If you drive by the northeast corner of Adams Boulevard and Grand Avenue in historic South-Central L.A., you’ll see that construction is well underway on a beautiful mixed-use complex aptly named “Adams & Grand.” It’s a whole new era for South-Central L.A., and 20/20 Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is in the vanguard, supporting this and other developments in the region as a preferred plumbing and HVAC contractor.
Los Angeles-based developer Cityview cleared away the out-of-date commercial buildings that occupied the site to revitalize the neighborhood with a contemporary seven-story building featuring 296 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments above approximately 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 390-car garage. The two-story podium garage will also provide spaces for 332 bicycles. The design by Humphreys & Partners Architects includes a colorful structure with balconies and multiple rooftop decks from which to savor urban views and L.A.’s year-round balmy weather. Residents will also enjoy luxury amenities that include a club room, fitness center and swimming pool.
Cityview will set aside 25 units as very low-income affordable housing, with an additional three units priced for moderate-income households.
Completion of Adams & Grand is on pace for early 2023.
Adams & Grand is one of several large multifamily developments that are currently being built in the area after the city approved a plan to allow taller, mixed-use buildings to be built in a half-mile radius around five train stations in Palms, Rancho Park, Sawtelle, Mid-City and Cheviot Hill. The complex is located one block east of Metro’s LATTC/Ortho Institute Station, and may soon be neighbored by a 15-story apartment tower planned to replace a parking lot on Flower Street. Transit-oriented construction continues to rise along the route, and there will likely be more development in the area.
